The UN's Sustainability Initiative

Never before in history has there been a greater alignment between the objectives of the International Community and those of the business world. Common goals, such as building markets, combating corruption, safeguarding the environment and ensuring social inclusion, have resulted in unprecedented partnerships and openness between business, governments, civil society, labour and the United Nations.

The Foundation for the UN's Global Compact Ten Principals

The UN Global Compact's ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption enjoy universal consensus and are derived from:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • The Int'l Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
  • The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development
  • The United Nations Convention Against Corruption

A Value Enhancing Management Model

Think Tank Thuto supports the ten principles of the Global Compact with respect to human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. With this commitment, we express our intent to advance these principles within our sphere of influence. We are actively learning how to translate the core 10 principals into value-enhancing management practices for our organization.
